The early 21st century power saw Pantera isaac M. Singer Phil Anselmo launch several side projects, including Necrophagia, Viking Crown, Christ Inversion, Southern Isolation, and Superjoint Ritual. The latter grouping is comprised of guitarists Jim Bower and Kevin Bond, drummer Joseph Fazzio, with none other than Hank Williams III on bass voice (Anselmo handled both vocal and bass duties for the group's recordings, simply opted to condense only on vocals for the group's live shows). According to Bower, the members of Superjoint Ritual approached the writing and recording of their debut with "the perfect 15-year-old mentality of having everything loud, everything on 10, getting ladened, and rental whatever happens, bechance." Recorded at a rehearsal place turned recording studio apartment in Anselmo's backyard, the roger Huntington Sessions were produced by previous Ugly Kid Joe appendage Dave Fortman (world Health Organization has turned into quite an a producer of radical heavy bands - Eyehategod, Soilent Green, etc.). May of 2002 saw the release of the quintet's debut, Use Once and Destroy, an album that reflected such influences as Black Flag, Righteous Pigs, Celtic Frost, and Voivod, among others. Superjoint Ritual supported the record album with a summertime enlistment the same year.

Santogold - Self-titled

Rating: * * * * The voice of New York-based singer
Santogold (real name Santi White) sounds a lot like some other great
singers. Even so, it makes for a unique centrepiece to her debut album. She
has a cool, sonic squawk, best...

Katherine Heigl - Heigl Upsets Greys Staff With Emmy Snub

LATEST: KATHERINE HEIGL has upset staff on the set of GREY'S ANATOMY after withdrawing from the Emmy awards as part of a protest about her character's development on the hit show.

The actress insisted her name be left off the official ballot because she felt her character was awful during the most recent season of the medical drama.

But the move has disgruntled workers on the programme.

A source tells America's Entertainment Weekly, "The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticises the show for lack of material?

"It's an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place."

Heigl won the Best Supporting Actress prize at the Emmys last year (08). She has since established herself as a movie star with roles in Knocked Up and 27 Dresses.

David Cook Nervous About National Anthem

For David Cook, the most recent winner on American Idol, getting the chance to sing the National Anthem at Tuesday's NBA Finals game in L.A. ranks high on his list of achievements.

"Top three," he told OK! before the game. "Between this, getting to do The Tonight Show, and I got to visit a childrens hospital in New York which was pretty heavy... Jay Leno and this, respectively, take second and third to that."

Of course, with dozens of A-listers in the crowd at the Staples Center and millions of fans watching at home on TV, David was well aware of the potential for disaster.

"Its the one song you dont want to mess up," he confessed. "So Im going to try to not notice Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row."

The biggest difference between singing at the NBA Finals and the Idol finals? "No matter what I do I dont have Simon telling me how dreadful it was afterwards."

One celebrity who was definitely rooting for David to do well was new girlfriend, and fellow AI alum Kimberly Caldwell, who waited in the dressing room while he performed but who joined him in the crowd when the game began.

As for the immediate future, David will soon rejoin his Idol competition for this summer's tour, and then he's got an album to release. "Were looking at mid-fall, October - November," he revealed about the release date. "We started writing stuff this last week and so far, so good."

However, before you get your hopes up that he and gal-pal Kimberly will collaborate on a song together, David says, "There will be no duets."

Pussycat Dolls shoot raunchy video for new song

London (ANI): American pop/R&B quintet the Pussycat Dolls have undergone a sexy new make-over for their latest music video. Nicole Scherzinger, who is the group"s lead vocalist, was seen showing off a super slender midriff in a hot pink top teamed with kinky zips, figure-hugging leathers and big hoop earrings. The one taking the prize for flashing the most flesh and baring her body in a barely-there boob tube was Ashley Roberts. Kimberly Wyatt sported a punky image by donning ripped tights and a neon yellow bra.

Joey Fatone - Fatone Relieved Illegitimate Child Story Is Dead

Pop star JOEY FATONE is breathing a sigh of relief after learning a report he fathered a four-year-old lovechild is untrue.

The former 'N Sync singer was stunned when tabloid reports recently linked him to a fatherless young girl.

But the claim has since been disproved.

He says, "Someone said that I had a four-year-old daughter and it was in the tabloids.

"This wacky lady, basically, was just like, 'Yeah, this is your kid!'

"It was completely... not true. It was just odd, it was the weirdest thing."

Fatone has a seven-year-old daughter Briahna with wife Kelly Baldwin.

FunnyOrDie, bored with the Web, goes HBO

Apatowferrellmckay
HBO
is buying 10 half-hours of original comedy from FunnyOrDie.com, the website that brought the world "The Landlord" and also ... also ... wait, let me just Google around for a second ... hold on one second ... HERE!  It also brought the world "Porn Star Politics."

I threw a dis on FOD last year because they hadn't come up with that many good new videos, and I have to agree with myself.  Although to play devil's advocate, there's really no one anywhere who's been able to produce funny Web videos consistently.

On the other hand, if you have the likes of Judd Apatow, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay lending their names to the site, you'd think they've be able to come up with at least one good viral viral video every month. And the fact that they haven't speaks volumes about how much energy they put into the site, other than as a promotional vehicle for their movies. The thing about FunnyOrDie that initially got everyone so excited was the promise of high quality Web content from Hollywood's funniest people. That just hasn't materialized.

Now they're moving even further away from that idea, back in time toward traditional TV and its stuffy old formulas. As smart as these guys looked when they launched, the whole thing has come to resemble a glorified publicity effort.

Funny or die? I've made my decision.
